Job Summary

The RN in the Progressive Care (Step down) unit is responsible for providing exceptional nursing care by:

1. Assessing patient status using organizational and leadership skills
2. Serving as a liaison between Med-Surg and ICU units
3. Prioritizing patient problems and needs
4. Developing and implementing care plans to improve outcomes
5. Maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment

Essential Functions

• Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team
• Conducting patient assessments and creating care plans
• Coordinating patient care across hospital departments
• Participating in quality improvement initiatives
• Administering medications safely according to policies
• Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in the state
• BLS certification; ACLS preferred at hire (must obtain within 6 months)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience; 6 months in acute care preferred
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred but not required
