Job summary

OrthoNebraska is seeking an Registered Nurse (RN) for hospital-based care focused on musculoskeletal patients. The role involves collaborating with surgical teams, providing perioperative care, and ensuring patient safety from admission through recovery.

Hours are Mon-Fri with 4 x 10-hour shifts, flexible scheduling, and adherence to OSHA and Joint Commission standards. A valid RN license and background check are required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments to determine care needs.
• Develop, review, and revise individualized care plans for optimal outcomes.
• Implement interventions per the care plan in a safe manner.
• Evaluate patient responses to care and adjust as needed.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and care teams to coordinate care.
• Maintain compliance with safety policies, OSHA standards, and regulatory requirements.

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) Hospital works collaboratively with both clinical and non-clinical teams, focusing on providing safe and effective care for patients with musculoskeletal conditions.

Hours/Schedule: Mon - Fri: 4 10-Hour Shifts, Variable shifts between 630a - 7p

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age /weight of the patients served.
• Performs technical skills competently and independently to assure patient safety.
• In-depth knowledge of surgical operation procedures.
• Highly skilled at assessing patients prior to surgery and providing them with perioperative care.
• Extensive knowledge of aseptic and sterile techniques.
• Ability to collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare professionals.
• Solid understanding of patient health and safety standards.
• Excellent organizational skills.

Essential Job Functions

• Performs an initial and ongoing assessment to determine the assigned patient’s ongoing nursing care needs.
• Develops/reviews/revises and individualizes the plan of care to address the patient’s nursing care needs for optimum patient care outcome.
• Implements interventions consistent with the established plan of care in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Evaluates patient care to determine response to care/interventions for optimal patient outcome.
• Maintains a professional behavior in attitudes, demeanor, interactions to achieve organization’s mission.
• Initiates action to correct, prevent, and/or minimize risk(s) to the patient, family or hospital employees (i.e., falls, needle sticks, patient concerns).
• Comply with safety activities, policies and procedures and regulatory requirements such as OSHA and The Joint Commission.
• Participate in performance improvement activities.
• Attend and participate in department meetings.
• Attend mandatory educational programs.
• Follow established guidelines as stated in hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
• Responsible for all other duties as assigned.
• Must be able to pass background check.
