Harlingen Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for perioperative care in the Surgery department. You will ensure safe, high-quality patient care across the surgical continuum, coordinating with surgeons, anesthesia, and the broader team.

The role requires an active RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and at least 1 year perioperative experience, with CNOR and BSN preferred. Full-time daytime schedule with a sign-on bonus and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Formación

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS (AHA) certificate within 30 days and maintain current.
• Current PALS (AHA) certificate within 30 days and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year perioperative experience or on-the-job training.
• CNOR certification preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing safe, high-quality patient care throughout the surgical experience utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice while maintaining a safe and sterile surgical environment. The Registered Nurse works closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and other members of the surgical team to coordinate patient care and respond quickly to changes in the patient’s condition. Responsibilities include circulating duties, patient positioning, maintaining accurate documentation and surgical counts, and supporting infection prevention and safety standards. The Registered Nurse also provides patient and family education, maintains professional nursing standards, and protects patient privacy and confidentiality while ensuring safe, effective care before, during, and immediately following surgical procedures.

• Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) Certification (AORN) preferred
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
