Job summary

Harlingen Medical Center is seeking an RN Surgery Circulator for day shifts on a Per Diem basis in Harlingen, TX. You will prepare the OR, verify patient identity and surgical site, position the patient, and ensure pre-operative procedures are complete.

You will document vital signs and medications, contributing to accurate medical records. Maintain sterile technique, follow infection control protocols, and support the surgical team to ensure safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required or able to obtain by hire.
• Minimum of one year perioperative experience or on-the-job training.
• CNOR certification preferred and BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room, ensure cleanliness, and confirm equipment functionality.
• Assist in preparing patient for surgery and verify identity and surgical site.
• Document vital information before, during, and after the procedure for medical records.
• Maintain sterile environment and follow infection control protocols.

Hours: 8-hour shifts

Location: Harlingen Medical Center - Harlingen, Texas

Responsibilities

• P repare the operating room, ensure the cleanliness of the environment, and confirm that all required equipment is functioning properly
• Assist in preparing the patient for surgery, which may involve verifying the patient's identity and surgical site, helping to position the patient on the operating table, and ensuring that all necessary pre-operative procedures are completed
• Document pertinent information before, during, and after the surgical procedure, such as the patient's vital signs, medications administered, and any other relevant details for the patient's medical record
• Maintain a safe and sterile environment in the operating room by adhering to strict infection control protocols and ensure that all team members follow proper procedures for handling instruments and equipment

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year previous Perioperative experience or on the job training
• Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) Certification (AORN) preferred
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
