Job summary

Quantum Rehabilitation and Nursing has per diem opportunities for a Registered Nurse Supervisor. Shifts include 7-3 weekends, 3-11 weekdays/weekends, and 11am-7pm weekends; experience in SNF/LTC is required.

The RN Supervisor will oversee the unit's care, ensuring adherence to health, sanitary and infection control policies, and quality standards, while coordinating with the interdisciplinary team and physicians. Per diem status, strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Current NYS RN license.
• Reliable transportation and demonstrate excellent work ethic.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
• Minimum 1 yr SNF/LTC Experience

Responsibilities

• Notify physician/family of resident condition changes.
• Cover duties in DNS/ADNS absence.
• Complete routine documentation and audits.
• Lead and motivate the team with strong communication.
• Comply with state requirements and facility policies.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
• Guide staff to ensure tasks are completed.
• Monitor and report changes in residents' symptoms/behavior.
• Communicate with interdisciplinary team and physicians.
• Report to the Director of Nursing.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS (Including but not limited to)

RN's are responsible for the overall operation and optimal quality of care for the residents on the assigned unit.

Follows all health, sanitary and infection control policies and maintains established standards of practice set forth by the facility's administration and Nursing Policies and Procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Contacts the resident's physician and family to notify them of a change in the resident's condition or accident/incident; also notifies the supervisor covering.
• Assumes all responsibilities of the RN Supervisor in his/her absence or as directed by the DNS/ADNS.
• Assumes independent responsibility for completing the required routine documentation and auditing as required.
• Must have strong communication skills and the ability to lead and motivate the team.
• Comply with all state requirements and facility policies, procedures and standards of conduct.
• Have the ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care according to the individualized needs.
• Guides the staff and ensures tasks are being completed.
• Monitors and reports changes in residents’ symptoms and behavior.
• Communicates and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team and or physicians.
• Reports to the Director of Nursing
