Job summary

Inova Loudoun Hospital is seeking a STICU Registered Nurse to join our 12-bed STICU. This full-time night-shift role involves caring for critically ill surgical and trauma patients with a 2:1 ICU ratio and 3:1 IMC ratio.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care setting.
• BLS for healthcare provider certification from AHA required. ACLS (must obtain within 6 months of hire).
• RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as an RN.
• BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
• If RN has an ADN, must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• 2+ years of ICU RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Care for critically ill surgical and trauma patients in the STICU.
• Monitor and manage ICU patients with a 2:1 patient-to-nurse ratio; IMC 3:1 as applicable.
• Collaborate with surgical teams and the OR to coordinate patient care.

Schedule :

Full Time Nights (3 x 12-hour shifts) Must be available various shifts/times during orientation.

Inova Loudoun Hospital is a growing 211-bed nationally recognized acute-care community hospital with a rich history of proudly serving our growing and diverse community since 1912. We provide compassionate and comprehensive care for the entire family.

Our Surgical Trauma ICU unit is a 12-bed unit on the second floor with close proximity to the OR. We care for critically ill surgical and trauma patients, including neurosurgery, vascular surgery, general surgery patients, along with post-procedural patients. We also care for Intermediate Care level surgical and trauma patients as well.

Patient to Nurse Ratio: 2:1 (ICU patients) and 3:1 (IMC patients) in the STICU.

STICU RN minimum qualifications :

• Experience : 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care setting or completion of a critical care fellowship.
• Certifications : BLS for healthcare provider certification from AHA required. ACLS (must obtain within 6 months of hire).
• Licensure : RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as an RN.
• Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
• If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN)- must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• 2+ years of ICU RN experience.

STICU RN preferred qualifications :

2+ years of ICU RN experience.
