Responsibilities

Registered Nurse (RN) - Stepdown position at Corona Regional Medical Center in Corona, CA

This is a per diem position.

Reporting to the Director of Critical Care Services, this role assumes responsibility for all aspects of adult and geriatric patient care, utilizing the Nursing Process within the guidelines of the California Nurse Practice Act. The RN is accountable for maintaining nursing standards and achieving optimal patient outcomes in the Stepdown Unit, including supervision of all nursing personnel categories.

About the Hospital

Corona Regional Medical Center was established in 1965 as Corona Community Hospital. It merged with Circle City Medical Center in 1992, forming a 238-bed community hospital network comprising a 160-bed acute care hospital and a 78-bed rehabilitation campus. The hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission, employs over 1,250 healthcare workers, and has a medical staff of approximately 347 physicians across more than 40 specialties.

Qualifications

Minimum Essential Experience

• One year ICU/StepDown/PCU experience preferred.

Minimum Essential Education

• Critical Care course required for new graduates and RNs with less than one year of experience within 9 months of hire date (effective for hires or transfers after September 1, 2011).

Required Licensure / Certifications

• Current California RN license required.
• Basic Arrhythmia Certificate or 12-Lead EKG Certificate preferred.
• ACLS certification required within 90 days of start date.
• Current BLS (CPR) certification through the American Heart Association required.
• CCRN certification preferred.
• N IH Stroke Scale Certification required within 90 days of hire.
