Job summary

Memorial Physician Practices is seeking a Special Response Team RN to support clinical areas with high staffing needs in Kentucky. The role requires licensure, 72 hours biweekly, and rotating day/night shifts including weekends.

You will deliver direct nursing care, document patient status, and coordinate patient flow across facilities while supporting patient and family education and safety.

Qualifications

• Active KY or compact RN license.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Current BLS/ACLS/PALS as per unit requirements.

1. The Special Response Team Registered Nurse role is utilized to provide clinical support to clinical areas throughout all four Centerpoint facilities that have a high need for supplemental staffing. The SRT RN has the authority, responsibility, and shift accountability for the delivery of nursing care using the nursing process. The SRT RN, in collaboration with other healthcare professionals, applies competent clinical knowledge and skills to achieve quality care outcomes. Nurses must be willing to work at all Central Kentucky LifePoint facilities and accept regular rotational assignments as determined by the Senior SRT Program Director.

How you'll contribute

A SRT RN who excels in this role:

• The SRT RN must agree to be available to work 72 hours in a bi-weekly pay period including but not limited to: day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts and will follow the scheduling requirements of the Central Kentucky LifePoint facility assigned.
• Call may be required when working Surgery or Women Services rotations
• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels.
• Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff. Performs or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
• Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels.
• Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current Kentucky or compact state RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Associates Degree in Nursing, Required
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Preferred
• License: Current RN to practice in the state of (KY)
• Certifications: BCLS; ACLS & PALS per unit specific requirements
• NIHSS within 30 days of hire
• Handle with Care within 30 days of hire
• TNCC within 6 months of hire
• National Certification - Required within 6 months of hire or transfer
• 2 years of critical care experience
