About the Orthopedic Clinic at Short Pump Pavilion

We provide a range of care to patients of all ages across various orthopedic sub-specialties, including foot/ankle, hand, joint, shoulder/elbow, and spine, as well as pediatrics, oncology, sports, trauma, and wounds. Our team comprises RNs, LPNs, CMAs, NPs, PAs, Surgeons, and Physicians dedicated to delivering exceptional care. Our clinic hours are Monday-Friday, 7:45 am - 5 pm, with flexible shift options. Some Saturday clinic hours (9 am - 1 pm) are required; nights and holidays are not. Free onsite parking is available.

Job Roles
Clinical Nurse II

This role demonstrates mastery of clinical skills, applying knowledge to a specific patient population. Responsibilities include assisting with illness prevention, wellness maintenance, and patient comfort, recognizing and responding to patient changes, mobilizing resources, providing leadership, and delivering age-specific care based on medical orders and multidisciplinary plans. Safe medication administration and documentation are essential.

Clinical Nurse III

This role exhibits advanced clinical knowledge at the unit level, assisting with patient care, anticipating changes, serving as a role model, and delivering age-specific care based on medical orders and multidisciplinary plans. Safe medication administration and documentation are also required.

Licensure and Certification Requirements
  • Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible/compact state for all roles.
  • For continued employment: Current RN licensure in Virginia, AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent.
Experience Requirements
  • Clin I: N/A
  • Clin II: 12-24 months RN experience
  • Clin III: 3 years clinical experience
Preferred Experience
  • Clin I: Experience as LPN, nursing assistant, or care partner in acute care or relevant practice area.
  • Clin II & III: Academic healthcare experience; experience with similar patient populations.
Education/Training
  • All roles: Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an approved program. Nurses without a Bachelor's must enroll in an RN to BSN program within two years and complete it within five years unless grandfathered.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or higher; Clin III: Certification in specialty area.
Additional Requirements
  • Follows physician/licensed provider orders, practicing within Virginia regulations, ANA Code of Ethics, and institutional policies.
  • Supervisory responsibilities include organizing work and delegating tasks to team members.
  • Physical and sensory demands include lifting, exposure to hazards, prolonged standing, and cognitive skills such as reasoning and problem-solving.
  • Work environment involves a fast-paced, noisy setting with multiple priorities and customer interactions.
