Prime Healthcare in Chicago, IL is seeking a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) to provide timely, compassionate care to sexual assault victims. The role includes forensic exams, prophylaxis, documentation, referrals, and collaboration with legal processes.

Full-time with a variable shift in the Emergency Unit at Saint Mary’s of Nazareth Hospital. Required: valid RN license, unrestricted DL, BLS, Illinois SANE training (40 hours) and Pediatric SANE training within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Unrestricted State DL.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain.
• Completed Illinois SANE training (40 hours).
• Complete the initial Pediatric SANE training within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• The SANE will provide timely, non-judgmental, compassionate care to sexual assault victims.
• Forensic exam, prophylaxis, documentation, referrals, and legal support participation.
• Follow protocols established by Medical Director and manage nursing process.

Responsibilities

The Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) will provide timely, non-judgmental, compassionate care to the sexual assault victim. This will include a forensic exam, prophylaxis for pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases, photographic documentation, referrals for appropriate medical and psychological follow-up, support and participation in legal proceedings. The SANE is expected to follow protocols established by the Medical Director and/or management of the SANE program for which the SANE is employed. The SANE is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Current and valid state RN license.

2. Unrestricted State DL

3. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

4. Completed approved Illinois SANE training (40 hours of Didactic coursework)

5. Complete the initial Pediatric SANE training within 6 months of hire.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $36.41 to $55.19 hour. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
