RWJBarnabas Health in Somerset, NJ seeks a part-time RN on the Same Day Surgery unit. The role is 32 hours per week, day shift, with hourly pay as listed. You will join a collaborative team focused on safe, high-quality patient care and continuous improvement.

Ideal candidates hold an active NJ RN license, current BLS/ACLS, and have ASN or diploma. BSN is preferred, with 1–2 years acute care experience. EMR proficiency (EPIC) is expected to support efficient care delivery.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• ASN or Nursing diploma required; BSN preferred.
• 1–2 years Acute Care experience encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and respond to clinical changes.
• Administer medications and provide hands-on care with sound clinical judgment.
• Collaborate with physicians and staff for coordinated care decisions.

The Registered Nurse is expected to work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure the delivery of safe and high-quality patient care on the Same Day Surgery Unit. Typical day responsibilities

• Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocate for your patients
• Providing safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands on care grounded in strong clinical judgment
• Serving as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions
• Providing clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they feel informed, supported, and prepared for the next phase of care
• Ensuring accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record to promote continuity and patient safety
• Contributing your voice during interdisciplinary rounds, helping drive seamless communication and smooth transitions of care

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS andACLS certification. ASN or Nursing diploma required. If candidate possesses ASN or Nursing diploma, must agree to complete BSN within five years of hire date. A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, as is prior patient care experience and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC.1-2 years experience on an Acute Care experiencerequired.
