Job summary

Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL seeks an experienced RN for the Respiratory Intermediate Care Unit. The unit is a 25-bed telemetry-focused setting with ventilator support on a Magnet-designated, level 1 trauma, teaching hospital.

The role requires completion of an accredited nursing program, state RN licensure, BLS (and ACLS within 6 months). Prior Med/Surg experience and vent experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing.
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.
  • ACLS within 6 months of hire.
  • Requires 1 year minimum of Medical/Surgical nursing experience.
  • Ventilation experience highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process.
  • Deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead efforts to create the safest patient environment and best patient experience across the continuum.

Where You Will Work

25-bed unit that provides nursing care to a wide scope of diverse patient populations requiring telemetry monitoring related to medical, surgical or cardiac-related issues or also requiring ventilator support in our Magnet-designated, level 1 trauma, teaching hospital. Excellent nursing culture and exposure to patients with diverse and complex medical issues to build the skills and knowledge and grow in your nursing career.

We’re Looking For
  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association and ACLS within 6 months of hire
  • Requires 1 year minimum of Medical/Surgical nursing experience to be considered
  • Vent experience highly desired

  • As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
