Job Title: Registered Nurse I Department: Critical Care II / Rapid Response Location: Rochester General Hospital Hours Per Week: 36 Hours Schedule: Day/Evening/Night

SUMMARY:

The R.N. I maintains quality patient care through consistent standards of nursing practice in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. Utilizes the nursing process: assess, diagnosis, plan, implement and evaluate to execute appropriate individual patient care. The R.N. is instrumental in providing an exceptional experience for patient and family. The RN is the leader of the care delivery team. The RN collaborates with members of the multidisciplinary team; coordinates the care of the patients on the team and effectively communicates the goals of the patients and the team daily. The RN is responsible for maintaining exceptional quality and safety while building an effective and efficient care team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Patient Care & Service.

Promote and restore patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; performing various treatment procedures; providing physical, educational and emotional support to patients, friends and families; supervising assigned team members

Planning & Communication.

Develop and document individualized care plans customized for each patient’s unique needs, with support from the interdisciplinary health team as needed; maintain effective communication to convey patient health status, treatment plans and progress Electronic Health Record (EHR) Management.

Electronic Health Record (EHR) Management.

Demonstrate proficient use of an EHR – including accurate patient and provider documentation and communication

Compliance.

Adhere to required department and system protocols, regulations (local, state, federal) and education requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing
  • Registered Nurse license in New York State.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • 3 years of Critical Care experience preferred
EDUCATION:

AS: Nursing (Required)

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:

BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA), RN - Registered Nurse - NYS Office of Professions

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20–50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements. For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements. Any physical requirements reported by a prospective employee and/or employee’s physician or delegate will be considered for accommodations.

PAY RANGE:

PAY RANGE: $39.75 - $52.99 CITY: Rochester POSTAL CODE: 14621 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
