RWJBarnabas Health in New Jersey is seeking a Registered Nurse for the RWJUH Somerset ER. The role involves comprehensive patient care, collaboration with physicians, and documentation in EPIC EMR. Day shift, 36 hours/week, with competitive hourly pay and growth opportunities.

Ideal candidates hold NJ RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, and have acute care experience. A BSN is strongly preferred, with continued professional development supported by the organization.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• ACLS Certification required.
• At least 1 year of acute care experience preferred.
• Associate’s degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
• Experience with EMR systems (EPIC) preferred.
• Emergency or Med Surg Telemetry experience required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize changes, intervening early.
• Provide safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care.
• Serve as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers to support timely, coordinated care decisions.
• Provide clear, compassionate education to patients and families.
• Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic medical record to promote continuity and safety.
• Contribute during interdisciplinary rounds to drive seamless communication and transitions of care.
• Be part of a highly collaborative team environment with shared accountability.

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS certification. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification is required. At least 1 year previous acute care experience is preferred. A Associate’s degree in Nursing is required. A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, as is prior patient care experience and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. At least one year Emergency or Med Surg Telemetry experience required. This position is Day Shift, 36 hours per week, 7am-7:30pm.
