RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Newark/New Jersey area with a focus on emergency care. This role supports rapid assessment, patient safety, and evidence-based practice in a high-energy environment.

You will collaborate with physicians, provide education to patients and families, and maintain meticulous EMR documentation while pursuing ongoing professional growth within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Active NJ RN license in good standing; BLS; ACLS required.
• 1 year acute care experience preferred; Emergency or Med Surg Telemetry experience preferred.
• EMR experience (EPIC) desired; associated nursing degree required; BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes.
• Provide safe, evidence-based medications and hands-on care.
• Serve as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers.
• Educate patients and families clearly and compassionately.
• Ensure accurate documentation in the EMR for continuity of care.
• Contribute to interdisciplinary rounds and teamwork.
• Pursue ongoing professional growth through education and ladder opportunities.

To be considered for this RN opportunity, youmusthold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS certification.Advanced Cardiac Life Support(ACLS)Certificationisrequired.At least1year previousacute careexperienceis preferred.An Associate’s degree in Nursing is required.A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing isstrongly preferred, as isprior patient care experience and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR)like EPIC.At least one year Emergency or Med Surg Telemetry experience required.This positionis nightshift,36hours per week, 7pm-7:30am.
