Job summary

PIH Health, a nonprofit regional network serving the Los Angeles area, seeks an oncology-oriented RN for Whittier Hospital. The role provides full nursing practice with emphasis on cancer care and radiation therapy, focusing on patient outcomes and education.

Ideal candidates hold a current California RN license with 1 year oncology and 1 year acute care experience, BLS certification, and preferably a BSN. Collaborative, ethical care is emphasized within a diverse team.

Responsibilities

• Provide a full range of nursing practice including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Perform outcomes identification and care planning for patients and families.
• Educate patients and families; support teaching principles.
• Collaborate with team to ensure ethical and evidence-based care; lead in practice improvement.
• Apply cancer care knowledge including radiation therapy and pain management.

Provide a full range of nursing practice. Primary nursing responsibilities include assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation and evaluation. Standards of professional performance required include quality practice, education/competency, professional practice evaluation, collegiality, collaboration, and ethics, research/best practice integration, resource utilization and leadership.
