Job summary

The Recovery Village Indianapolis is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our addiction treatment team for 12-hour night shifts. The RN will care for and educate patients about their medical and psychiatric conditions, administer medications, and collaborate with the facility’s leadership to ensure quality care.

Minimum Associate's Degree in Nursing is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred. Behavioral health experience is valued, and the role offers a night differential and opportunities to

Responsibilities

• Care for patients during 12-hour night shifts and document medical records.
• Administer medications and monitor detoxification processes.
• Transcribe physician orders and implement medical protocols as ordered.
• Confer with and assist medical personnel, internal and external resources.
• Provide documentation reflecting services for each patient in accordance with licensure standards.
• Assess medical and psychiatric needs to determine urgency and expedite treatment as required.
• Educate patients about medications, health issues and medical conditions.
• Take verbal orders from medical providers and carry them out accurately.
• Provide routine nursing care under supervision of the Director of Nursing.

The Recovery Village Indianapolis (RVI) is an addiction treatment center with a continuum of care for anyone struggling with substance use disorders. 71 beds, 15 beds for Detox, 34 beds for Residential, and 22 beds for Partial Hospitalization Program/Intensive Outpatient Treatment.

The Registered Nurse performs a wide variety of job duties during a shift, caring for and educating patients about their medical and psychiatric conditions. Establishing trust and building rapport with patients and their families are key elements of this position. Works effectively with the facility leadership team to ensure success of the facility by completing the following:

Job Duties

• Ability to complete appropriate documents within the required timeframe after admission to the program. Maintains medical records.
• Ability to administer medications as indicated and monitor detoxification process.
• Ability to transcribe Physician orders and implement all Medical Protocols as ordered.
• Ability to confer with and assist medical personnel, both internal and external resources.
• Ability to provide documentation which reflects services for each patient in accordance with licensure standards.
• Ability to assess the medical and psychiatric needs of the patient determine the urgency of their needs and expedite treatment is required.
• Ability to effectively communicate concerns about patient health to appropriate personnel and follows up as necessary.
• Ability to educate patients about medications, health issues and medical conditions.
• Demonstrates ability to take verbal orders from the medical provider, documents them in the patient record and carries them out accurately and professionally.
• Demonstrates ability to provide routine nursing care under the supervision of the Director of Nursing.
