Job summary

Garden Grove Hospital Medical Center, part of Prime Healthcare, is recruiting registered nurses to join its compassionate team. The role involves treating patients, educating families, and providing emotional support within a behavioral health setting.

Candidates must hold a valid RN license in the state, maintain a current BLS certificate, and demonstrate knowledge of mental health laws and care standards. Night shifts are available with a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient follow-up and rehabilitation; participate in psychiatric crisis intervention and manage safety procedures.
• Educate patients and families on illness management, diet, exercise, and self-administration of medications.

Responsibilities

Registered nurses (RNs) perform basic duties that include treating patients, educating patients about mental and medical conditions, and providing advice and emotional support to patients’ and/or family members, running therapeutic groups, psychiatric crisis intervention, seclusion and restraint of patients. RNs record patients’ medical histories and symptoms, help to perform diagnostic tests and analyze results, operate medical machinery, administer treatment and medications, and help with patient follow-up and rehabilitation. RNs teach patients and their families how to manage their illness or injury, diet and exercise programs, and self-administration of medication and physical therapy. Other related duties.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Must have current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse.2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.3. Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards. 4. Working knowledge of interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units. 5. Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care.

Benefits may vary based on collective bargaining agreement requirements and/or the employment status, i.e. full-time or part-time. The current compensation range for this role is $50.82 to $63.47. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
