Qualifications

  • Nursing Diploma and Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
  • 1 year of experience as a registered nurse or completion of RN residency.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver patient care utilizing the Nursing Process.
  • Assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care effectiveness.
  • Manage cardiac drips and ensure continuity of care.

Registered Nurse (RN II) – Progressive Cardiac Care Unit

Work location: Texas Health Dallas, 8200 Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas, TX 75231

Work hours: Full Time 36 Hours, Days; 7:00 am – 7:00 pm; Rotating Weekends

Here’s What You Need

· Nursing Diploma required

· Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program required

· BSN preferred

· One-year experience as a registered nurse, or completion of an RN residency program required

· One-year strong Medical Telemetry experience in an Acute Care setting strongly preferred

· RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator, and coordinator for quality patient care

· BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required

· ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of hire

What You Will Do

· Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

· Assesses the patient

· Plans the care of the patient

· Intervenes as appropriate

· Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions

· Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care

· Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information

· Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers

· Cardiac Focused Care

· Management of various cardiac drips
