Summary of Position

Under supervision of the Unit Manager/ADON/DON, the RN – PRN assumes responsibility for a group of residents/patients during a shift. Responsibilities include assessment, implementation, and evaluation of the care plan. The RN ensures standards of care are met, manages the environment for resident safety, supervises nursing assistants, and follows all policies and procedures, including the State Nurse Practice Act and JCAHO standards where applicable.

This position requires working a minimum of 3 shifts, each 8 hours, and no more than 10 shifts per month, including summer and winter holidays.

Requirements of the Position

Required Education and Experience

• Licensed in the State as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Current CPR certification
• Ability to use necessary supplies and equipment
• Ability to calculate drug dosages
• Meet all health requirements by law
• Positive, effective communication with residents, families, staff, and volunteers
• Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English
• Basic computer skills with aptitude to learn company applications

Preferred Education and Experience

• Experience in fast-paced environments
• Post-acute care experience preferred
