Liberty Point Behavioral Healthcare in Staunton, Virginia, seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for PRN shifts in a trauma-informed psychiatric residential program for adolescent males. You will provide direct nursing care, monitor patient status, administer medications, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support youths with complex emotional and educational challenges.

Eligible candidates hold a Virginia nursing license (or be eligible to renew) and CPR/BLS certification; prior Handle

Qualifications

Virginia nursing license required or eligible to receive/renew.
Current CPR or BLS certification preferred (can renew during orientation).
Must be at least 21 years old at time of hire.
Handle With Care training and HWC techniques exposure preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

Provide trauma-informed psychiatric nursing care.
Monitor patient status and administer medications.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to support adolescent males with complex needs.

Liberty Point Behavioral Healthcare is located in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley -- a region best known for its natural beauty -- in the charming city of Staunton, Virginia. We provide trauma-informed psychiatric residential treatment to adolescent males who are experiencing complex emotional, behavioral, and educational difficulties. We are a 42-bed facility and our programs are specifically designed for youth with psychiatric disorders and co-occurring intellectual disabilities. We also specialize in working with young men who are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) Job Requirements:

Current license to practice nursing in State of Virginia (or eligible to receive or renew)
Current CPR or BLS certification preferred (can renew as part of New Employee Orientation)
Must be at least 21 years of age at time of hire
Ability to successfully complete and pass all components of Handle With Care & Verbal De-escalation Crisis Intervention Training
Ability to use and supervise Handle With Care (HWC) techniques
Reflect behavior, attitude, and appearance appropriate to the position and be supportive of the facility and division philosophy, goals, and objectives
Effectively communicate both verbally and via written documentation
