Job summary

Carondelet St. Josephs Hospital in Tucson seeks a Registered Nurse to provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and protocols.

You will coordinate care across disciplines, assess patient needs, and support discharge planning while upholding our commitment to compassionate, high‑quality patient care. Eligible candidates have an Arizona nursing license (or compact), BLS, and at least 1 year of RN experience; BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
• Assessment - An RN uses a systematic, dynamic way to collect and analyze data about a patient, the first step in delivering nursing care. Assessment includes not only physiological data, but also psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and life-style factors as well.

• Problem Identification - Problem identification is the nurse’s clinical judgment about the patient’s response to actual or potential health conditions or needs.

Assessment data, problem identification, and goals are written in the patient’s care plan so that nurses as well as other health professionals caring for the patient have access to it.

• Licensure/Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • American Heart Association and others as required by individual department as noted in Attachment A.
• Preferred Requirements:
• Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Licensure/Certifications:
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • American Heart Association
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) or others as required by individual department.
