Job summary

Hartford HealthCare in Newington, CT is seeking an OR Nurse to serve as Circulator/Scrub in the Operating Room. You will organize and deliver individualized patient care within the OR according to hospital policies and standards.

Responsibilities include patient teaching, adapting care to age and cultural needs, and participating in quality improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes. A CT RN license and prior OR experience are required.

Qualifications

• Active Connecticut RN license.
• Prior operating room nursing experience.
• CNOR certification is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Provide Circulator/Scrub nurse functions in the OR.

• Support patient teaching and participate in quality improvement.

Job Description

The OR Nurse functions as Circulator/Scrub Nurse in the Operating Room. Organizes and administers individualized, professional patient care to patients within the Operating Room. Provides nursing care in accordance with the objectives, policies, procedures and protocols of the hospital and AORN, ASPAN standards. Participates in patient teaching; incorporates the needs and behavior of the patient’s specific age/cultural groups in planning and providing care. Participates in quality improvement activities.
