Job summary

Hartford HealthCare's Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain, CT is seeking an OR Nurse to function as Circulator/Scrub in the Operating Room. You will organize and provide individualized nursing care in alignment with hospital policies and patient needs.

In this role, you will participate in patient teaching and quality improvement activities while collaborating with physicians and staff to ensure safe, efficient surgical care.

Qualifications

• Valid CT RN License is required.
• BLS Certification required; ACLS to be obtained within 6 months if not already held.
• 1 year of acute care; two years of surgical experience preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Job Description

The OR Nurse functions as Circulator/Scrub Nurse in the Operating Room. Organizes and administers individualized, professional patient care to patients within the Operating Room. Provides nursing care in accordance with the objectives, policies, procedures and protocols of the hospital and AORN, ASPAN and SGNA standards. Participates in patient teaching; incorporates the needs and behavior of the patient’s specific age/cultural groups in planning and providing care. Participates in quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

• Valid CT RN License
• BSN preferred

• Must be able to communicate effectively, and work closely with all physicians and staff
