Job summary

UT Health East Texas in Tyler, TX is seeking a day shift, full-time Pre-Operation Registered Nurse (RN). You will provide and direct patient care using the nursing process for a defined group of patients in a fast-paced surgical setting.

The ideal candidate holds an ADN, a current Texas RN license, and BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications with competencies in ventilator management and critical care monitoring. PACU/ICU/ER experience is preferred, contributing to high-quality patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
• Current Texas RN license required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS certifications within 90 days are expected.
• Competencies include ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring and critical care medications.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who uses the nursing process to provide and direct patient care for a group of patients for a designated time frame.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Must maintain current Texas RN License
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care
• ACLS
• PALS (within 90 days of hire)
• Competence in ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and critical care medications that may or may not need to be titrated
• Thorough knowledge of airway management and rescue methods
• Pediatric/Adult Phase 1 and Phase 2
• Maintain knowledge of ASPAN Standards

Preferred Job Requirements

• PACU, ICU, ER, or other acceptable acute care experience
