Registered Nurse (RN) - Postpartum (Casual) - New

Casual - (2) 12-hour shifts required in a 4-week schedule.

You pick your shifts based on the department needs.

Location: Newark, DE

Summer Casual Program dates: End date : 08/25/2025

The Postpartum Unit (6M/7M) is a 72-bed inpatient unit caring for postpartum patients and their stable newborns in the Women’s and Children’s Building on the Newark campus.

The average length of stay is 2-3 days post-birth. The unit supports rooming-in and family-centered care. A couplet care model is utilized, assigning an RN to both the delivered parent and the newborn. A nursery is maintained primarily for emergencies or short-term convalescent care. Postpartum staff also support newborns in our substance withdrawal program.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • BSN required or commitment to obtaining BSN within three years of hire
  • Two years RN experience in Postpartum or LDRP required
  • Delaware RN licensure or eligibility for licensure in Delaware
  • BLS certification required
  • NRP certification required
