Job summary

MetroHealth Main Campus- Glick 7 West Critical Care Step Down Unit is hiring a Registered Nurse. The role supports congestive heart failure, COPD, DKA, and sepsis patients with telemetry monitoring, central line care, and high-flow oxygen management.

Shifts run 7a-7p and 7p-7a with rotating weekends and holidays; team includes PCNAs and providers. Unit has 14 beds; MetroHealth offers tuition reimbursement and OPERS retirement, among other benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current RN licensure in Ohio.
• Current BLS for healthcare providers within 90 days of hire.
• ACLS certification or within 6 months of hire.
• PRN requires 1 year of RN experience.
• PRN must possess all required certifications at hire.

Primary Patient Population:

• Congestive Heart Failure
• COPD
• DKA
• Sepsis

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• EKG interpretation
• Central Line care
• Rescue Bi-pap, High Flow Oxygen, Trach/Vents,
• Assist with bedside procedures (endoscopies, bronchoscopies)
• Critical thinking, delegating, time management

Personnel RN will work with:

• Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, PT, OT

Number of beds on unit:

• 14 beds

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire
