MetroHealth is seeking an RN for the Critical Care Step Down Unit (7 West) at MetroHealth Main Campus. Rotating shifts are required, with 7a-7p and 7p-7a coverage, including weekends and holidays.

The unit cares for CHF, COPD, DKA and Sepsis, with telemetry monitoring and advanced technology to support patient care. The ideal candidate will have an accredited nursing program graduate, Ohio RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, and relevant experience for PRN eligibility.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing or a program seeking accreditation.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification or obtained within 90 days of hire
• Current ACLS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire

Responsabilités

• Provide nursing care for the Critical Care Step Down Unit (7 West) patients.
• Perform EKG interpretation and central line care.
• Assist with bedside procedures (endoscopies, bronchoscopies) and monitor patients with high acuity conditions.
• Demonstrate critical thinking, delegation, and time management in a fast-paced ICU environment.

Primary Patient Population:

• Congestive Heart Failure
• COPD
• DKA
• Sepsis

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• EKG interpretation
• Central Line care
• Rescue Bi-pap, High Flow Oxygen, Trach/Vents,
• Assist with bedside procedures (endoscopies, bronchoscopies)
• Critical thinking, delegating, time management

Personnel RN will work with:

• Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, PT, OT

Number of beds on unit:

• 14 beds

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).

• Professional Certification recognized by the Magnet Association
