Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center in Westwood, NJ, seeks a Night Shift Post-Partum Couplet Care Registered Nurse to support our maternity unit.

You will coordinate care, mentor colleagues, and ensure safe patient experiences, with emphasis on newborn and mother health, using our team-based care model and advanced technology.

Qualifications

• RN with New Jersey Board of Nursing or a multistate license is required.
• 1-2 years Mother/Baby and/or Med-Surg nursing experience.
• NRP certification required; BLS must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer.

Responsibilities

• The RN Post-Partum staff functions as a caregiver for a specific patient population to achieve desired outcomes.
• Directs and oversees the care provided by other caregivers through delegation, validation, evaluation and coordination.
• Effectively coordinates patient care/unit activities among nursing peers, physicians and support services.
• Reports to the Nurse Manager.

Get to Know Your Team:

• Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.

Responsibilities:

• The RN Post-Partum Staff functions as a caregiver for a specific patient population in order to achieve desired outcomes.

• Thisposition directs and oversees the care provided by other caregivers through delegation, validation, evaluation, and coordination.

• This position effectively coordinates patient care/unit activities among nursing peers, physicians and support services.

• The RNStaff Nurse reports to the Nurse Manager.

Qualifications:

Job Requirements:

• Graduate of an NLN/AACN-accredited program in nursing
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient careor the American Red Cross (ARC).
• Registered Nurse (RN) with the New Jersey Board of Nursing or an RN Multistate License from the NCL is required.
• 1-2 years Mother/Baby and/or Medical-Surgical nursing experience.
• Completed basic AWHONN Electronic Fetal Monitoring Course within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• OB nursing certification preferred.

Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
