Job summary

The Hospitals of Providence - Memorial Campus in El Paso, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse for night shift. This role provides direct clinical patient care, assesses, plans, and implements care, and supervises staff to ensure safe, high-quality nursing.

You will coordinate patient care within the medical regime, administer medications safely, and be ready for emergencies per hospital codes. A licensed RN with 1 year of RN experience and ACLS/PALS as applicable is required; BLS also required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing preferred.
• 1 year of RN experience required for PRN status; acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, safe nursing care to all patients per shift.
• Coordinate and integrate patient care based on the nursing process.
• Administer medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy.

Job Shift: NightJob Type: Full TimeThis role provides direct clinical patient care. The role will assume responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing direct clinical care to assigned patients on a per shift basis, and unit level. The role is responsible for supervision of staff to which appropriate care is delegated. The role is accountable to support CNO to ensure high quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• The RN provides high-quality, safe, cost-effective, total nursing care to all patients.
• The RN assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process.
• The RN directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, QI, and Infection Control, with the goal being to discharge the patient with an optimum level of care provided.
• Assumes responsibility for coordination and planning of patient care within the prescribed medical regime.
• Administers all medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy.
• Performs and fulfills all HICS (hospital incident command system) responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed and needed by the facility in times of emergency and/or disaster.
• Responsible for knowing the Hospital’s emergency codes, including the purpose and appropriate action for each, and adheres to the Hospital policies and procedures for each emergency code.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• Required: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Preferred: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing

Experience

• Required: Must have 1 YOE of RN experience for PRN status.
• Preferred: Recent acute care experience

Certifications

• Required: Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy; AHA BLS, and if applicable by corporate policy for unit of hire, AHA ACLS and/or PALS and/or NRP.
