Job summary

Confluence Health is seeking a clinically competent, registered nurse for perianesthesia/endoscopy care. The role requires current WA licensure and BLS, with PALS/ACLS preferred, and a willingness to work weeknights and weekends.

As a first-line clinician, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, collaborating with physicians and the health care team to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Current licensure in the state of Washington (RCW 18.88) or licensure through Multistate Nurse Licensure Compact (SSB 5499).
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) certification (within 90 days of hire).
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (within 6 mo of hire).
  • Advanced cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (within 6 mo of hire).
  • Must possess basic computer skills related to Windows navigation, mouse usage, keyboarding, email communication and password management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation).
  • Interact with patients, families, and healthcare team to maintain professional standards.
  • Document care, assessments, plan of care, and responses in medical records.
  • Communicate and collaborate with physicians and staff to facilitate treatment.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Washington Nurse Practice Act and unit standards.

Summary

Mandatory weeknight and weekend call obligation. Current PACU or recent within the last 3 years ICU or equivalant experience highly preferred.

A clinically competent, registered, professional nurse who delivers care to patients through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Effectively interacts with patients, significant others, and all other health care team members, while maintaining standards of professional nursing. (Washington State Nurse Practice Act, WAC, ANA Code of Ethics).

Position Reports To: Perianesthesia Endoscopy Manager

Essential Functions
  1. Perform related assignments as requested in order to promote positive visitor, family, and co-worker relations.
  2. Coordinates and provides high quality patient care in a caring and compassionate manor, utilizing the nursing process and unit specific standards of practice.
  3. Accurately collects patient information needed to provide safe, high quality care. Completes holistic ongoing assessments of patient’s status and responds appropriately.
  4. Develops, implements and continually reassesses patient’s individualized plan of care.
  5. Provides nursing care for patients including administration of medications, completion of nursing procedures and/or treatments.
  6. Determines and completes appropriate nursing actions to meet care goals; including the physical, psychological, social and rehabilitative needs of the patient.
  7. Teaches patient/family and/or significant others appropriate health information in a timely manner and shares written informational material.
  8. Continual evaluation of discharge plan for appropriateness, educational needs, and changes as needed.
  9. Documents care provided, assessments, plan of care, interventions and responses accurately in the patient’s medical record.
  10. Demonstrates ability to handle emergency situations in a prompt, precise and professional manner.
  11. Actively maintains current knowledge base of workflows, process and evidence-based procedures.
  12. Delegates appropriately and oversees care provided by non-licensed assistive personnel.
  13. Participates in performance evaluation/improvement processes with Director/Clinical Manager. Assumes responsibility for own professional development and personal growth.
  14. Consistently functions within the guidelines of the Washington Nurse Practice Act, unit specific standards of practice, and keeps current with the legal aspects of nursing.
  15. Communicates and collaborates with members of the healthcare team including physicians, patients and families to facilitate effective patient care and treatment.
  16. Maintains a clean and safe environment for patient and staff according to hospital and unit policies.
  17. Actively participates in quality improvement programs.
  18. Adheres to Confluence Health policies and unit standards as applicable.
  19. Required to maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR), PALS, and ACLS certifications.
  20. Performs other duties as assigned.
