Qualifications

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
• Minimum one (1) year of RN experience required.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for pre-operative and post-anesthesia patients.
• Provide comprehensive patient assessments and monitor patients recovering from anesthesia.
• Prepare patients and families for surgical procedures through education and clinical evaluation.
• Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition using sound clinical judgment.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and multidisciplinary team members.
• Ensure safe patient transitions throughout the perioperative continuum of care.

Nurses work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, CRNAs, perioperative staff, and interdisciplinary care teams to ensure safe, high-quality care throughout the surgical experience.This per diem opportunity offers experienced nurses the chance to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity surgical environment supporting the region's only Level I Trauma Center while maintaining scheduling flexibility.
