Job Overview:

RWJBH is seeking a Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Pre and Post Anesthesia Care Unit at the New Brunswick campus.

Qualifications:

• BSN required
• Recent pediatric critical care and/or PACU experience
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Proficient computer skills

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License
• APHON required or within 1 year of hire

Scheduling Requirements:

• Day shift, 36 hours per week, 7a-7:30p
• Rotating weekends, holidays, and on-call

Essential Functions:

• The Registered Nurse provides nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, ensuring adherence to ethical standards as per the ANA code of ethics.
• Maintains safety in practice, utilizing evidence-based principles, and advances knowledge through communication and resource utilization.
• Reports safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors.
• Possesses knowledge of the patient population served.
• Supervises and delegates tasks appropriately, collaborating with other care providers.
• Sets and evaluates priorities with measurable outcomes for improvement.
• Uses the nursing process to individualize care plans, managing care as an individual practitioner and team leader.
