Registered Nurse (RN) – PCU - Stepdown - Cincinnati Market Float Pool

***RNs could receive a sign-on bonus up to $15,000 with 1 year prior experience in specialty. ***

1 year prior experience in specialty needed for position

Unit: PCU

Shift: Nights - 7pm-730am

Locations: Position will float to all of our acute hospital locations in the Cincinnati Market

  • Mercy Health - Anderson Hospital
  • Mercy Health - Clermont Hospital
  • Mercy Health - Fairfield Hospital
  • Mercy Health - Kings Mills Hospital
  • Mercy Health - West Hospital
  • The Jewish Hospital - Mercy Health

Job Summary:

The RN Clinical Float Pool assesses, analyzes, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care following established standards. The primary role involves floating across departments and sites within the organization to deliver patient care, including scheduling, multiple assignments per shift, travel, or seasonal staffing. The RN collaborates with the healthcare team under the supervision of a clinical manager, adhering to the Scope of Practice for Registered Nurses.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Float within competency-based tiers:
    • Tier 1: Float within a single site
    • Tier 2: Float within multiple sites in a single market
    • Tier 3: Float across multiple markets
  • Support organizational goals through quality improvement activities.
  • Participate in ongoing quality and safety initiatives.
  • Incorporate the professional practice model into care.
  • Plan and coordinate nursing care based on best evidence.
  • Develop and implement patient care plans, including interventions and documentation.

Licensing/Certification:

  • Current nursing license in the designated state
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) as required

Education:

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (required)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (preferred)

Work Experience:

  • At least 1 year of acute care RN experience (required)
