Job summary

Methodist Hospital is seeking a Progressive Care Registered Nurse (RN) to coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. You will collaborate with medical teams for pre-operative and post-operative nursing care and advocate for patients to ensure an exemplary experience.

You will assess patients on admission and during shifts, perform physician-ordered procedures, document care, and monitor responses to treatments while maintaining current knowledge of cardiac and medical-surgical

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate).
• Minimum of six (6) months of clinical RN experience.
• Current Texas RN license or Multi-State Compact license; Texas license within 60 days if Compact.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition at admission and each shift; report changes.
• Perform procedures as ordered by medical providers.
• Document care in the patient chart promptly and thoroughly.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor responses.
• Maintain knowledge of medications and equipment for cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

What you will do in this role:

• Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
• Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program.
• Minimum of six (6) months of clinical experience as a licensed Registered Nurse
• Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 60 days of hire date)
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
