Job summary

The Progressive Care Registered Nurse at Methodist Hospital coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care, working with medical providers on pre-operative and post-operative nursing for cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

In collaboration with the care team, you will assess patients on admission and each shift, document care promptly, administer medications, and advocate for patients to ensure an exceptional experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program.
• Minimum of six (6) months of clinical experience as a licensed Registered Nurse
• Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (RN Compact License holders must obtain Texas RN License within 60 days of hire)
• Current American Heart Association BLS Certification

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
• Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
