This role involves delivering nursing care through the nursing process, applying clinical knowledge, and using independent judgment to ensure quality patient outcomes. The nurse must demonstrate knowledge at the novice level, relevant to patient growth and development, and be capable of assessing and interpreting patient data to meet age-specific needs. This position provides professional nursing care in an inpatient hospital setting.

Minimum Qualifications

Education, Certification, and Licensure:

• Current unencumbered licensure with the WV Board of Registered Professional Nurses or appropriate state board, or multi-state licensure via eNLC.
• Graduate nurses must obtain licensure within 60 days of hire.
• Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.

Experience

• Less than 12 months of nursing experience.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

These include ensuring safety and continuity of care, creating care plans, recognizing safety concerns, providing patient education, performing assessments, utilizing evidence-based practice, documenting care, and demonstrating growth in caring for complex patients. Additional duties may be assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Minimize manual patient lifting to 35 pounds, using equipment as needed.
• Work involves strength, stamina, lifting, moving, standing, walking, and carrying materials over 40 lbs.
• Normal visual and auditory acuity required.

Work Environment

• Working irregular hours, around biohazards, infectious diseases, deceased, water, and electrical hazards.
