This position is designated as part-time, rotating shifts evening/night. Evening shift is: 2:00pm-10:30pm; night shift is:10:00pm-6:30am; weekends as assigned primarily on the evening shift. The work schedule will include at least 64 hours per two-week pay period and may include additional work hours, based on business needs. The position is initially eligible for full employer contribution towards health and dental insurance benefits.
Provide direct nursing care to residents, direct and monitor care given by LPNs and CNAs in accordance with current Federal, State, Veterans Administration, and facility standards.
Minimum Qualifications
- Licensed in Minnesota as a Registered Nurse, in good standing
- Knowledge of nursing practices and techniques sufficient to provide effective nursing care for residents
- Skill in establishing and maintaining positive working relationships
- Effective communication skills sufficient to provide and follow instructions
- Computer experience sufficient to complete electronic charting and use basic computer functions such as email
- Ability to make decisions within the scope of nursing responsibilities
- Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of nursing care provided by other staff, make or recommend changes, and provide mentoring
- Ability to each self-help skills to residents
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a skilled nursing facility
- Long-term care experience
- Geriatric care experience
- Experience with MDS assessments
Additional Requirements
This position requires successful completion of the following:
- A Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background check may be conducted on the top finalist(s) for the position(s). When conducted, a finalist must pass the DHS background check.
- A Tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening (or chest x-ray) is required prior to employment.
