A leading healthcare provider in Dayton is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join their Pain Center team. This full-time role involves providing clinical care for patients undergoing various pain procedures. The ideal candidate will have a nursing degree, relevant certifications, and a year of experience in a med-surgical environment. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential for success in this fast-paced role.
The Pain Center Ambulatory Nurse is responsible for the clinical nursing care of patients undergoing invasive pain procedures such as epidural blocks, sacroiliac joint injections, Bier blocks, sympathetic blocks, and trigger point injections. This includes care for patients during office visits or via phone interactions regarding issues, nursing assessments, pre-procedure patient preparation, medication administration, assisting pain specialists during procedures, post-procedure care, discharge education (including medications), follow-up on patient issues received by phone, review of new patient referrals, patient education on medication policies, diagnostic testing, and obtaining insurance prior authorizations for procedures, medications, and diagnostic tests. The nurse must demonstrate knowledge of potential complications related to various blocks and identify patient history factors that may increase risks.
Associate's degree in nursing, BSN preferred.
Current license to practice nursing in the State of Ohio.
BCLS certification required. ACLS certification preferred.
At least one year of previous nursing experience in a med-surgical healthcare environment is required.
The RN must be organized, efficient, and possess precise documentation and communication skills. The ability to work effectively in a high-stress, fast-paced environment and maintain excellent customer relations is essential. Candidates should be able to stand and walk for extended periods, have no uncorrectable hearing or visual impairments, and be capable of lifting or moving patients. A team-oriented approach and the ability to work under direct supervision and collaboratively with others are also required.
