Job Summary

As a PACU Registered Nurse you will play a critical role in the immediate post‑operative care of surgical patients. You will manage airway support, closely monitor neurological and cardiac status, provide initial wound care, ensure patient stability during recovery, and collaborate with the surgical and anesthesia teams. The role includes on‑call availability during select non‑business hours.

Position Details
  • Self / preferential scheduling posted four weeks in advance.
  • Supportive, visible leadership that promotes a collaborative, respectful team culture.
  • Staffing support from certified nurse assistants, patient care techs, charge nurses, and an RN float pool within HCA Healthcare.
  • Rounding with unit leaders to ensure your voice is heard on patient‑care suggestions.
What You Will Do
  • Deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care while applying evidence‑based practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as an integral member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team.
  • Apply nursing process, critical‑thinking skills, scientific judgment, technical skills and leadership to independently deliver safe nursing care.
  • Assess patient condition, monitor throughout your shift, and document changes and care provided.
  • Educate patients and families/caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, treatment, and follow‑up measures.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited diploma, associate’s, or bachelor’s degree registered nursing program.
  • Minimum of six months of clinical experience as a licensed Registered Nurse.
  • Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or a Multi‑State Compact License (RN Compact holders must obtain a Texas RN license within 60 days of hire).
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.
