Position: Clinical Nurse II (RN) – Recovery/PACU – Duke Raleigh Hospital

Duke University Health System seeks to hire a Clinical Nurse who will embrace our mission of Transforming Lives, Transforming Care.

Department Profile:

This department cares for surgical patients pre- and post-operatively, delivering exemplary care to ensure an excellent patient experience.

Preferred experience: Prior experience in surgical services or critical care, including pre-op care, sedation administration, and post-sedation monitoring/care.

Shift:

Three 12-hour shifts from 07:00 am to 07:30 pm (Monday - Friday), with six Saturday shifts per year. Closed on 8 Duke-recognized holidays.

Job Summary:

Provide patient-centered nursing care, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate. Participate in the clinical ladder, educational activities, committees, research, and other health projects. Adhere to all regulatory and professional standards, and maintain respectful relationships with patients and families.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience preferred; at least 1 year required for CN2 role.
• Experience in surgical services or critical care strongly preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (Bachelor’s, Associate’s, or Diploma).
• All nurses without a BSN must enroll in a BSN program within two years and complete it within five years.

Licensure and Certifications:

• Current NC RN licensure or compact license required.
• BLS or higher certification required.
• Professional certification preferred.
