Job summary

Wellington Regional Medical Center in Wellington, Florida, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the PACU. This full-time daytime role offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities to cover various shifts and overtime as needed.

The RN will provide safe, competent care per facility policy, lead and support the healthcare team, and apply patient-centered care principles. Stroke alert processes, NIHSS, and post-therapy patient care are key responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
  • Prefer one year full time or three years part time experience in acute care setting.
  • Previous PACU experience preferred.
  • Current Florida nursing license.
  • BLS (current upon hire).
  • ACLS (current upon hire).
  • PALS (within 3 months of hire).
  • Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.

Responsibilities

Registered Nurse (RN)- PACU (Full-time Days)

This opportunity is Full-time at 36 hours a week with full benefits. Opportunity to cover various shifts and overtime.

Role and Responsibilities

Provides safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards and philosophy. Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing activities. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times.

Recognizes the signs and symptoms of stroke and calling a stroke alert overhead. Verbalizes stroke alert process. Performs and documents the NIHSS, assessment of post thrombolytic and/or endovascular therapy patient, assumes patient care of the stroke alert while in the PACU Department. Maintains currency in stroke knowledge by completing the annual 4 hours online training.
