Job summary

Lincoln Surgical Hospital in Lincoln, NE is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse for outpatient services. The RN will care for pre-operative and post-operative patients, monitor status, and educate patients and families to promote safe recovery.

Montly schedule is PRN, with shifts Monday–Friday, hours roughly 4:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and a commitment of six shifts in a rolling three-month period.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN license in Nebraska or compact state with Nebraska primary residence within 30 days of employment.
• Current BLS certification required upon hire.
• ACLS and PALS certifications required within 90 days of employment.
• Post-surgical nursing experience preferred.
• Progressive care and/or critical care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Admit patients to the pre-operative area and complete comprehensive nursing assessments and documentation.
• Perform pre-operative and post-operative patient evaluations and provide patient and family education.
• Receive patients from surgery, assess their condition, and deliver appropriate post-anesthesia and recovery care.
• Monitor patient status, identify changes in condition, and intervene as necessary.
• Document assessments, care provided, patient outcomes, and progress toward established nursing goals.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-focused care.
