Sun River Health provides the highest quality of comprehensive primary, preventative and behavioral health services to all who see it, regardless of insurance status and ability to pay, especially for the underserved and vulnerable. Sun River Health is a Federally Qualified, Non-Profit Health Center serving communities in Suffolk, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Columbia and Westchester County. Sun River Health is currently seeking a full-time remote Registered Nurse to join its busy Call Center team.

Position Summary

A Registered Nurse renders professional nursing care to patients, within an assigned unit or authorized community health center site, in support of medical care as directed by the medical staff and pursuant to the objectives and policies of the Sun River Community Health. In addition, this position will perform duties assigned on as needed basis.

Essential duties and responsibilities of a Registered Nurse

  • Interviews patients for health history, including history of current complaint, and past and present use of medication utilizing patient identifies; document patient charts (must be time stamped and/or initialed)
  • Maintains patient medical record and charts the following: nursing observation; vital signs; reactions to test, i.e., PPD results, in-house testing, and other pertinent information
  • Initiates follow-up, as necessary. Instruct patients on healthcare issues, as indicated by physician, diagnosis and/or inquiries by patient.
  • Assesses and triages patients as they present, via telephone.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and provide appropriate care.
  • Attends mandated training and keeps up to date on all nursing procedures including relevant procedures.

Essential Job Qualifications

  • Minimum Education Requirement: Associate degree
  • Preferred Education Requirement: Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum Work-Related Experience: 1- 4 years of experience
  • Minimum Requirement for Licensure/ Certification/Registration:
    • Registered Nurse - NYS
    • CPR Certification
    • Infection Control Certification

Pay Range: $45.00 - $53.00 per hour
