Job summary

Ohio State University Physicians in Columbus is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to provide bedside care under physician or midlevel supervision. You will collect health data, develop and implement a plan of care, and work with a collaborative healthcare team to ensure patient safety.

The ideal candidate holds an associate degree in nursing, is licensed in Ohio, and is CPR/BLS certified, with triage experience and a commitment to infection control and patient education.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing from aCCNE or ACEN accredited program.
• Current Ohio Registered Nurse license.
• CPR/BLS certification.
• Knowledge of triage procedures along with clinic, physician office and/or urgent care experience.
• Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
• Knowledge of appropriate procedures and standards for administration of medications and patient care aids.
• Ability to educate and clearly communicate with patients and/or families as to the nature of disease and to provide instruction on proper care and treatment.
• Ability to convey information both in writing and verbally.
• High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
• Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.
• Analytical ability and critical thinking to gather and interpret data and develop, recommend, and implement solutions

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing services to patients under the direction of a physician or midlevel provider, and provides a variety of related services to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.
• Collect patient health data, analyze the data to determine diagnoses, identify expected outcomes individualized to the patient,
• Develop a plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain the expected outcomes,
• Implement the interventions identified in the plan of care, and evaluate the patient’s progress toward attainment of the outcomes,
• Work collaboratively with the healthcare team.
• Perform professional nursing work of considerable difficulty including the care of patients as outlined by physicians and the objectives and policies of the organization.
• Provide patient and family health education and health assessment.
