This role is suitable for nurses with more than 12 months of experience. Provides and coordinates independent care to patients within a clinical specialty as an active member of the multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities
  1. Clinical Practice: Provides independent care for specific patient populations, serves as a clinical resource, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to plan and coordinate care.
  2. Service/Quality: Participates in quality improvement initiatives, data collection, and compliance activities to enhance patient care and safety.
  3. Unit Operations: Supports charge nurse duties, develops clinical protocols, and participates in unit-based activities and process improvements.
  4. Professional Development: Acts as preceptor, mentor, and contributes to ongoing education and training for staff and students.
Qualifications
  • Maryland RN licensure or eligibility through Compact agreements.
  • At least 1 year of nursing experience with solid clinical skills.
  • Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing.
  • Current BLS certification; additional unit-specific certifications as required.
  • Maintenance of 10 contact hours every two years.
Skills & Abilities
  • Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to learn electronic health records and participate in team efforts.
  • Knowledge of growth and development principles across the lifespan.
Patient Safety
