Job summary

Shasta Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver safe patient care in the Ortho/Neuro unit during night shifts. You will apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for assigned patients, communicating changes to the physician promptly.

The role requires an active RN license and BLS/ACLS certifications. Acute care experience and BSN are preferred, with opportunities to grow within a nationally recognized hospital.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care.
• Communicate with physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including cardiac monitoring and diagnostic results.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care within the Ortho/Neuro Unit. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients. He / She communicates with physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• 1. Current and valid state RN License.
• 2. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• 3. Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• 4. Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• 5. Ventilator Management experience preferred.

The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
