Job summary

Tenet Desert in Palm Springs, CA is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Operating Room to support patient care in a high-demand perioperative setting. The role requires current OR experience, a CA RN license, and BSN, with a night shift and full-time schedule.

Sign-on bonus up to $25,000 is offered based on experience. You will collaborate with surgeons and staff to ensure patient safety, accurate site and count documentation, and delivery of quality, patient-family centered perioperative

Qualifications

• Current OR experience required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited professional nursing program.
• Current RN licensure in the State of California.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification (maintain current).
• 1 year of OR experience.
• Effective verbal and written communication with patients and staff.
• Demonstrates knowledge of current nursing theory and practice.

The clinical nurse assumes principal responsibility for the total care assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of each assigned patient. The clinical nurse initiates teaching and educates the patient and family and/or significant other to attain optimal health. The clinical nurse is responsible for adhering to all standards of nursing care.

Responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the operating room and other areas of perioperative services for all patient populations.

Validates and documents correct patient, procedure, and site.

Insures appropriate preparation of the operating room and patient for specific procedures.

Plans care to insure a safe peri-operative experience for patient and staff

• Patient assessment

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• Current OR experience required
• Bachelors in Nursing from an accredited professional nursing program

• 1 year of OR experience.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills to communicate with people on all levels and able to maintain positive working relationships with patients, families, and co-workers inter- and intra-departmentally.
• Possess active listening skills.
• Demonstrates knowledge of current nursing theory and practice.

• Must be able to tolerate physically and mentally demanding work.
