Role Purpose

Provide direct patient care including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within established standards in perioperative care.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and families about procedures, expectations, and support resources. Serve as liaison between physicians and patients.
• Demonstrate competence in scrubbing and/or circulating for surgical services.
• Prepare for surgeries using safety techniques, set up instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Ensure patient safety from adverse events, monitor for complications, and assist in emergency situations.
• Participate in safety, quality, and compliance activities; engage in professional development and mentorship as needed.
