Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Behavioral Health Adolescent Unit

Location: Avera Behavioral Health Center-Sioux Falls

Worker Type: Regular

Work Shift: Night Shift (United States of America)

Pay Range: $24.00 - $48.00 (dependent on experience)

Position Highlights: Varied shifts, every other weekend/holidays; 72 hours per 2 weeks

A Brief Overview: Provides nursing care including developing diagnoses, care plans, and supporting patients and families physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Monitors patient conditions, re-evaluates care, and collaborates with healthcare team members.

What You Will Do:

  • Review physician prescriptions, communicate care plans, coordinate with healthcare providers, and support patients and families.
  • Develop nursing care plans based on patient histories and examinations.
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions, medications, and self-care.
  • Evaluate and modify patient care plans based on outcomes and changing needs.
  • Maintain a safe environment following infection control and safety policies.
  • Document patient care accurately in records.
  • Ensure equipment and supplies are operational and available.
  • Maintain professional competence as outlined by leadership.

Essential Qualifications: Ability to work specified hours, effective communication skills, visual acuity, and ability to hear and understand speech. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for disabilities.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with an active license in the state of practice, required upon hire.

Preferred Experience: 1-3 years in a clinical environment.
